Mama stood at the door with her market bag. Lily and Daisy each had their separate rooms side by side down the hall. And right now, both rooms were messy. Clothes on the floor. Toys everywhere. Beds unmade. Crumbs under the pillows.

“Girls,” Mama said firmly, “I need both of you to clean your separate rooms before I get back. Properly. Not halfway. 

I’ll check when I return.” Daisy jumped up the minute Mama left. “Let’s go, Lily! Mama said now.” She ran to her room and started picking up, making her bed, sweeping every corner. Within an hour, her room was neat and beautiful. 

Lily sighed and rolled over. “We have plenty of time. I’ll do mine when I hear Mama coming.” So she kept playing in her own room. The mess just got bigger. Then... click-clack ...Mama’s sandals on the gate. Lily panicked! She ran, shoving things under the bed, kicking clothes into the wardrobe. She was still panting and sweeping when Mama opened the door.

Mama walked into Daisy’s room first. It was clean, the bed was made, and it smelled fresh. Then she walked into Lily’s separate room. Half the toys were sticking out from under the bed. The floor was still dusty. 

Mama smiled and handed Daisy a new storybook and hair band. “Daisy, I’m proud of you. You obeyed right away. You didn’t wait until you saw me. That’s the kind of obedience that pleases God.” 

Lily burst into tears and ran outside. She found Grandpa under the mango tree. “Grandpa, it’s not fair! I cleaned too!” she sobbed. Grandpa pulled her onto his lap. 

“Hmm. Let me tell you two stories, little one.” “First, I tell you about the Ten Virgins.” “Jesus told about 10 girls waiting for the bridegroom. All 10 had lamps, but only 5 were wise — they carried extra oil because no one was sure when the bridegroom will arrive. 5 were foolish — they waited till the last minute. When the bridegroom came at midnight, the foolish ones’ lamps went out. The door was shut. Matthew 25:1-13 Lily, you were like the foolish virgins. You had a lamp — you knew what to do — but you had no ‘oil’ of obedience ready. You waited till you heard footsteps.” 

“Second, I would tell you about a King called Saul.”* “God told Saul to obey Him completely, but Saul waited, then did only half. God wasn't happy with him and didn't commend him. He said ‘I obeyed,’ but God said ‘To obey is better than sacrifice.’ 1 Samuel 15:22 Half-cleaning is like half-obeying. God wants our ‘yes’ right away.” Grandpa wiped Lily’s tears.

“Obedience, my girl, is doing it immediately, doing it fully, and doing it even when Mama isn’t watching. That’s how we keep oil in our lamp.” Lily nodded. 

The next morning when Mama said, “Please wash the plates,” Lily was already at the sink. “Right away, Mama!”

From that day, both sisters kept their "rooms" — and their hearts — ready.

 The LifeMen group under the bigger umbrella of Lifegate Outreach Centre exists to promote the spiritual, emotional, and physical wellbeing of men within the church with aim to reach wider community while encouraging personal growth, meaningful fellowship, and active participation in the life of the church. Its purpose is to equip men to become strong disciples, supportive family members, and positive role models in their communities through prayer, mentorship, teaching, and shared experiences. The group provides a welcoming environment where men can openly encourage one another, build lasting friendships, and strengthen their faith journey.

One of the group's approach is to engage annual seminars across different spheres of life to create the atmosphere of learning and capacity building. One of the recent successes has been the continued engagement in the uplifting book reading series, which has inspired thoughtful discussions, deeper biblical understanding, and practical application of Christian principles in everyday life. The initiative is to encourage members to grow spiritually while supporting one another in accountability and personal development.

Recognising the importance of holistic wellbeing, LifeMen also organises physical activities, including fortnightly sports sessions throughout the summer, which are currently ongoing. These activities promote healthy living, teamwork, and fellowship in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Another key initiative is LifeMen Time Out, where members gather at carefully selected retreat locations for spiritual reflection, leadership development, and seminars designed to equip men for everyday challenges. Looking ahead, an exciting business seminar is planned for September during LifeMen Time Out, providing practical insights into entrepreneurship, financial stewardship, and professional development. Together, these initiatives continue to empower men to grow in faith, character, and purpose while making a positive impact within the church and the wider community.

Lifegate Communities has launched GenNxt Power, a free, year-long youth programme for young people aged 12–18 in Walsall. Funded by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner through the My Community Fund, the project aims to reduce youth violence and anti-social behaviour by providing a safe, positive environment where young people can participate in sports, develop life skills, and build confidence.

Meeting on the last Saturday of each month, the programme combines physical activities such as football, basketball, badminton, tennis, and team games with workshops on goal setting, leadership, resilience, communication, emotional well-being, and decision-making. The project was co-designed with young people to address issues including boredom, peer pressure, and limited access to positive activities.

 The first session, held in June, focused on goal setting through a bowling activity and SMART goal workshops. Throughout the year, participants will also engage in community service, anti-violence campaigns, and youth-led events, with five Community Youth Champions selected to promote positive peer influence.

Lifegate Communities thanks the Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner and the LifeYouths coordinators at Lifegate Outreach Centre for supporting this initiative, which aims to empower young people to become confident, resilient, and active contributors to safer and stronger communities.

The Great Commission calls believers to make disciples of all nations. AI can support this mission in practical and meaningful ways. Ministry leaders can use AI to organise research, compare translations, locate supporting references, and structure teaching materials. While AI should never replace prayer, revelation, or biblical study, it can serve as a helpful research assistant. Churches can use AI to develop newsletters, devotionals, social media posts, event communications, and educational resources. This enables ministries to communicate more consistently and reach broader audiences. Many church leaders spend significant time managing schedules, preparing documents, coordinating volunteers, and handling routine communications. AI can streamline these processes and create more time for discipleship.

Technology has expanded opportunities to share the Gospel globally. AI assisted tools can help create outreach materials, translate content, and improve communication strategies that connect with diverse audiences. When guided by biblical principles, AI can strengthen ministry effectiveness while allowing leaders to focus on people rather than paperwork.

As Christians embrace AI, they must also uphold ethical standards that reflect the character of Christ.

Believers should avoid using AI to deceive, mislead or misrepresent their abilities. Integrity must remain central to every application of technology. 

AI generated content should be reviewed carefully before being shared or implemented. Christians remain responsible for the decisions they make and the information they communicate.

Technology should never replace compassion, empathy, and human relationships. People are created in God's image and must always be valued above processes and systems. Christians should use AI responsibly, respecting confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information entrusted to them. The ethical use of AI demonstrates that technological advancement and biblical values can coexist harmoniously.

Although AI can provide information, it cannot replace spiritual wisdom. AI can analyse data, but it cannot hear God's voice. It can generate recommendations, but it cannot provide divine guidance. Christians must remember that wisdom ultimately comes from God. Prayer, Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and godly counsel remain essential for making important decisions. Technology should support human judgment, not replace it. AI may offer options, but believers must exercise discernment to determine which choices align with God's will and biblical principles. A healthy approach is to view AI as an assistant rather than an authority. It can enhance human capabilities, but it should never become the source of ultimate trust or dependence.

The influence of AI will continue to grow across nearly every sector of society. Christians who understand these technologies will be better positioned to lead, innovate, and make a positive impact.

- Developing digital literacy. 

- Learning how AI tool’s function.

- Understanding ethical implications. 

- Combining technical skills with biblical wisdom. 

- Using innovation to solve real problems. 

- Maintaining strong spiritual foundations. 

As technology evolves, the world needs Christian leaders who can demonstrate competence, character, and compassion.

Artificial Intelligence presents significant opportunities for Christians to increase their impact, productivity, and service. When used wisely, AI can help believers work more efficiently, communicate more effectively, support ministry efforts, and steward resources responsibly. However, Christians must remember that technology is a tool, not a substitute for God. Our trust remains in the Lord, our wisdom comes from His Word, and our guidance comes from the Holy Spirit. Also, in reflecting on the bible in Proverbs 3: 5-6, which clearly states that we should ‘trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths’. AI may enhance our capabilities, but our purpose remains unchanged: to glorify God and serve others. The future belongs not merely to those who adopt technology, but to those who use it with wisdom, integrity, and faith. As Christians embrace AI responsibly, we can become more effective servants, stronger leaders, and greater instruments for advancing God's Kingdom in an increasingly digital world.

Dear friends,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this edition of LifeNews.

We commenced our series on ‘Empowerment for Divine Manifestation’ at the beginning of this month and completed four sessions in the course of the month.

The first four messages established the biblical foundations for experiencing and demonstrating God’s supernatural power in everyday life. The series emphasised that divine manifestation is not the product of human ability, ambition, or effort, but the outworking of God’s power through believers who understand their identity, depend on the Holy Spirit, and walk by faith.

The series began by establishing God as the ultimate source of all divine power. In a world where people relentlessly pursue influence, success, and control, Scripture reveals that true and lasting power originates only from the Self-Existent, All-Sufficient, and Eternal God. Those who place their trust in Him gain access to His creative, sustaining, and redemptive power. As believers abide in Christ, they experience spiritual fruitfulness, answered prayer, and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, demonstrating that divine manifestation always begins with knowing and remaining connected to the Source of power.

Building upon this foundation, the second message explored the believer’s identity and authority in Christ. While many people struggle with questions of identity despite educational, professional, and social achievements, many Christians likewise remain spiritually unaware of the authority Christ has already given them. Divine manifestation requires more than possessing power—it requires understanding and exercising God-given authority. Believers therefore must renew their minds through God’s Word, embrace their identity in Christ, walk in obedience, speak with spiritual authority, and cultivate lives of prayer and spiritual discipline in order to exercise the authority entrusted to them.

The third message then focused on the indispensable ministry of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers for supernatural living. Christianity was never intended to be merely intellectual or ceremonial; it was designed to be lived as a dynamic and transformative experience. The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, teaches, guides, comforts, convicts, and empowers God’s people with dunamis—the miraculous, explosive power of God that produces supernatural transformation. Through His indwelling presence, believers are equipped to fulfil God’s purposes and become effective witnesses whose lives visibly demonstrate His power.

The fourth message concluded this opening section by showing that faith is the divinely appointed means of activating God’s power for manifestation. Faith bridges the gap between God’s promises and their fulfilment, between heaven’s provision and earthly reality. It does not merely respond to visible evidence but confidently embraces God’s Word until His promises become visible. The Holy Spirit supplies the power, while faith activates that power in the life of the believer. Without faith, divine power remains unappropriated and God’s promises remain unrealised; with faith, heaven responds, circumstances align with God’s purposes, and divine manifestation becomes a living reality.

Together, these four messages present a comprehensive biblical framework for empowerment for divine manifestation. They reveal that believers must know the Source of divine power, understand their identity and authority in Christ, depend upon the empowering ministry of the Holy Spirit, and exercise faith as the catalyst that brings God’s promises into manifestation. When these foundational principles operate together, Christians are positioned to experience and demonstrate the reality of God’s kingdom, becoming vessels through whom His power, glory, and purposes are revealed to the world.

I pray that the word of God will continue to grow and prevail in all our circumstances in Jesus name (Amen).
