10. Our mobile App

This section explains how the Lifegate Outreach Centre app ("the app") handles your information. The rest of this policy also applies.

What the app collects

You don't need an account to use the app, and most of it works without giving us any information. We only receive personal data when you choose to send it to us:

Join Us (new member and first-time visitor registration): your first and last name, email address and phone number; optionally your home address and the team you would like to serve in; and whether this is your first visit.
Prayer Requests: the text of your request. Your request may include information about your health or personal circumstances. We treat it as strictly confidential and only our prayer team sees it. We never publish prayer requests in the app or anywhere else.

What the app does not collect

No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access.

No advertising, analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
A few settings are kept only on your phone: your light or dark theme choice and which notifications you have read. These never leave your device and are removed if you uninstall the app.

Why we use it and our legal basis

Registrations: to welcome you, contact you about joining the church and the team you chose, and keep our membership records (see section 3).

Prayer requests: so our prayer team can pray for you.

We rely on the legal bases in section 4: processing by a not-for-profit body with a religious aim, and your consent, which you give when you submit the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who stores it?

Your submissions are stored by Supabase, a database provider, on servers in London, UK, under a data processing agreement. Supabase acts only on our instructions and cannot use your data for its own purposes. Information is encrypted while it travels between the app and the database, and only authorised church staff can view it. When you submit a form, a copy is emailed to the church office so staff can respond promptly. These emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service that acts only on our instructions.

Videos and YouTube

Sermons and clips in the app are hosted on YouTube and play through YouTube's player. The app uses YouTube API Services. When you watch a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information as described in the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). By watching videos in the app you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).

Links to other websites

Links for giving, our website, YouTube and Facebook open outside the app, and those sites' own privacy policies apply.

How long we keep it?

Prayer requests: deleted 12 months after we receive them.
Registrations: kept while you are in contact with the church and then handled under section 6. If you don't go on to join, we delete them after 12 months.

Children

The app is intended for people aged 13 and over. Please don't send a registration or prayer request on behalf of a child without the consent of their parent or guardian.

Deleting your data

You have the rights listed in section 7, including asking us to delete what you have sent through the app. Email info@lifegatecentre.org with the name and email address you used (for a prayer request, tell us roughly when you sent it) and we will delete it within one month.
